Somerset House Studios celebrates six years of its resident artist community with its yearly access all areas party. The late-night event brings DJs, art installations and live performances to this building takeover, offering rare access to off-limits areas where the Studios’ artists-in-residence make their work.

Reimaging the building once again, this year’s edition of AGM embraces the 'slow burn' as a means to restore latent intimacy. Taking place without a rigid schedule, you can drift with ease across Somerset House’s New Wing at your own desire, with the building's three floors becoming a space to unfurl and indulge in curiosity and reconnection.

Somerset House’s ground floor will host installations and movement-based works including a late opening and live activation of SERAFINE1369's time-deconstructing We can no longer deny ourselves exhibition that leads to a ‘room within a room’ created by Tony-nominated designer Tom Scutt. Scutt's staging design is playfully inspired by construction site channelling devices, and the work's intent is to bring the outside in. Scutt’s structure will house a slowly evolving durational dance piece from multi-disciplinary artist Rowdy SS, which will take place over the evening.

Descending into the lower levels of the building, Sin Wai Kin’s new Somerset House film commission The Story Cycle screens in the mid-basement, alongside a takeover from DJ and broadcaster Lil C (NTS, Boiler Room and Apple Music) with friends Arthi and Kemarr

Chicago-based Footwork originator  RP BOO (Planet Mu) heads up Somerset House’s basement with a live performance, following DJ sets from Angolan producer Nazar (Hyperdub) and Black Artist Database co-founder NIKS. Elsewhere, BORN::FREE present an edition of Veranda, its flagship literary events night, featuring Belinda Zhawi and malakai sargeant alongside special guests Sarah Lasoye and past Studios resident Nadeem Din-Gabisi for an evening of spoken word, live music and readings.

Swimmers Limb, a show curated by Taylor LeMelle for Somerset House Studios’ Gallery 31 space, also stays open for AGM, offering visitors late-night viewing of the exhibition featuring works from Tai Shani, Mani Kambo and Comuzi Lab.
