Weddings

Our elegant architecture and riverside setting sets Somerset House apart as a distinctive and beautiful backdrop for your wedding.

With views across the River Thames – a history dating back to the fifteenth century – and Georgian-era architecture offset by uninterrupted views of the South Bank skyline, Somerset House is an elegant and undeniably unique wedding venue.

Somerset House is a truly elegant and iconic backdrop for a wedding. The spaces feel chic and elevated, and we adore creating beautiful celebrations within this prestigious venue.

The Golborne Collection

For weddings and receptions, the Portico and Navy Board rooms are a spacious and versatile set of adjoining spaces with original features – river-facing sash windows offering abundant natural light – and a character both elegant and contemporary. The Portico Rooms – located on the first floor of our South Wing – are a quartet of spacious and graceful rooms. With two private balconies – one to the north, overlooking our interior Edmond J. Safra Courtyard and its picturesque fountains, and another to the south, facing the river – the atmosphere and period architecture is ideal for a dinner, reception or ceremony.
